1970 The company Peyer is founded in Zurich

M. Peyer starts as a one man show operation offering machining services for the general industry.

1979 The preparation for the future

Through continuous investments and the acquisition of new customers the company had to relocate to Waltenschwil. A complete air-conditioned building was constructed to accommodate the manufacturing of components made of engineered plastics.                                   

1985 New innovative technique to machine plastics 

M.Peyer discovered a new method to machine engineered plastics for medical applications. This represented a big improvement in terms of surface quality and positioned the company in the medical field.

1986 Quality Management system

First steps in quality management were introduced and investments in metrology with 3D measurement systems were made. Additionally to this the introduction of a CAM programming system to assist the machining centres facilitated the production and increased the reliability of the manufacturing process.

90´s The medical era

During those years the company focussed on the manufacturing of plastic and titanium components, specially for hip and knee applications. The machine park was totally renovated with many new CNC machining centres of the latest generation.

2004 Pevis Holding AG buys Peyer AG

M. Peyer decides to sell to Pelvis Holding AG in order to guarantee the continuity of the company in the future.

2005 Peyer AG expands portfolio with surface engineering

New machinery for surface engineering with Vacuum Plasma Spray capabilities for bio-compatible coating was installed. This offers the chance to manufacture and coat specific parts for international customers.

2006 International business expansion

Thanks to the technical and marketing experience of Peyer management team the company achieved strong growth in international markets and qualified many products with the major orthopaedics OEM’s.

2007 Peyer moved to Baden

Due to the strong growth, the company required larger facilities to accommodate new technologies and machines in order to better support our customers and prepare the next expansion steps.

2008 Alhenia is born!

In order to have a new market image the brand name Alhenia was born, substituting the Peyer brand.  Alhenia moves into the one-stop-shop concept providing manufacturing, coatings and finishing services to the customers
